My hair girl moved away to LA (good luck Kaylie!), so I found a new one.
Rhett and Beau had well child checks and dental appointments before school started.
I learned about West Nile, and had 4+ cases just this month at my own clinic.
We took the kiddos on one last fun family trip of summer, before school started. We headed south towards Austin. Thursday night, we ate Salt Lick BBQ--always wanted to try it, not bad. The boys and us swam that evening at the Barton Creek Resort.
Friday, we went to my favorite water park in the whole wide world--Schlitterbahn. Loved it! The green, the nature, the clear rivers, not crowded, less waits, less commercialization. It brought back fond memories of my best girlfriends from Mexia, taking weekend trips to get-a-way. We finished off the day, by going to Gruene, TX; and seeing the oldest dance hall in TX. We also ate at the Gristmill without any AC. Just before it down poured with rain, we got some wonderful candy at the Pecan Candy Co.

Saturday, we went to downtown Austin. Started at the Children's Museum in Austin, and the boys were easily entertained.
We then headed to the capital. Surprise--my husband has never been to the TX capital--really? How do you get through your entire school career in TX and not take at least one field trip to the state capital? Anyways, he was impressed with the CHL fast track line. We went back that afternoon and let the boys nap, as did ourselves. Later that evening we dined on fine mexican food, and watched the bats fly out from under Constitution Bridge.

We literally couldn't get even one picture of the bats. Too many people, and tons of tiny bats flying in the dark.
Sunday, we took the boys to Natural Caverns in Georgetown, then headed home.
Rhett started soccer practice. He had to choose between soccer or football, and choose the sport with only one practice a week vs. three practices/week=PTL!!
Patient's like this made my day.

We had a blast, and I cannot believe how big and grown up he is becoming.
The NT State Fair & Rodeo started. Eric saw Josh Abbott Band. We both saw Stoney LaRue, love him and then a classic, John Anderson. I saw a lot of "Hep C n' HIV" walking around that night. Even Santa Claus showed up.
We met Rhett's 2nd grades teachers! He started school like a "cool cat".
Leadership Denton started, and we had our team building retreat. We had discover Denton day, and I love all this place has to offer. It's really changed in the past 10+ years.
This is my sarcastic "I heart TEXAS" (in orange--yeah, right!)
My brother came into town to visit for a short stay. It's always good to see him.
