Seymour Family Vacation

Our entire family packed in a Suburban, and headed to the Northeast to see the sites.

Day 1 - We left Oklahoma and stopped in Missouri somewhere late in the morning. On our days of driving the boys did great. We had Rhett loaded up with coloring books and electronics like his Gameboy, DVD, and Leapfrog to keep him entertained for the long drive. Beau slept most of the way, but with frequent stops he did better than expected.

Day 2 - Made it to Pennsylvania!

Day 3 - We toured Gettysburg. Wow, what a heartfelt trip. The bloodiest battlefields on US soil. We also made a stop in Hershey. I got some Twizzler's (chocolate flavored, of course), and we all got Hershey's kisses.

Day 4 - That morning, the guys did a sunrise tour on the battlefield. We then drove on towards DC. First stop, Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum at the Udvar-Hazy Center.

Day 4 - More of DC. We started the morning off with Arlington, and it was beyond humbling, God Bless our fallen soldier's. We also saw the Holocaust Museum, that was gut wrenching. It's sad to see how a dictatorship could led so many humans astray. It's almost incomprehensible. We then continued to the 2nd half of the Air & Space Museum on the Mall. We went on to the Natural History Museum and viewed the Hope diamond. It was nice, but I was more impressed with the Crown Jewels when I visited London. We finalized the day by visiting the US Archives.

Day 5 - We drove South to Jamestown and Yorktown. These were the first establishments in US history. Pretty amazing, for 400+ years ago.

Day 6 - We visited Williamsburg, a small colonial town where the town's folk are in full on apparel. We then saw our favorite--Monticello (Jefferson's Home).

Day 7 - We drove on to Tennessee. Eric stopped at the Smoky Mountain Knife shop. I love the beautiful trees the entire drive.

Day 8 - We made it home, safe and sound. It was a wonderful trip, and I'm excited for next year!
